Whitehall HS FiB 2025

Thanks to Andy, Al, John, Laurie, Len, Marty, Scott, Randy and Jacob for volunteering at Whitehall High School. Special thanks to Jacob Mulder. He was an AFS stipend recipient from the West Michigan Chapter. He is going to Michigan Tech University. I asked him if he would like to check out how sand casting works. Jacob is looking for part time work this summer. Hope the foundry community can keep him. Whitehall teacher Jeremy Shaeffer has two classes that made their own 3d printed patterns. He had the patterns already mounted and the students packed and poured their creations. Last semester we furnished Jeremy with sand and flasks. He has his “sandbox” right by the 3d printer so students can check to see if sand will draw off their patterns. We really had some good castings.
